No reprotoxicity studies are available for IOTG. A screening reproductive toxicity assay in rats was conducted with 2-ethylhexyl thioglycolate, a structural analogue. Dosage levels were 10, 50 and 150 mg/kg/day administered at a dosage volume of 5 mL/kg. Severe parental systemic toxicity was observed in the 150 mg/kg/day group. At the same dosage, decreased viability and growth of the F1 animals through post-partum day 4 occurred.

Although, decreased viability and growth of the F1 animals through post-partum day 4 occurred, it was observed at a dosage level of EHTG, which induced severe parental toxicity. Therefore, IOTG should not be classified for reproductive toxicity.
