TGIC has a log Pow = -0.8 , which has been published by various sources including The Nordic Expert Group for Critical Documentation on Health Risks from chemicals. 128. Triglycidyl Isocyanurate. Editor in chief Staffan Marklund, National Institute for working Life, 2001, Stockholm, Sweden . The calculated log Kow = 1.21 /Estimated/ US-EPA EPI-suite version 3.11. (2004) is probably less reliable and shall not be used.
Based on a log Kow = -0.8 it can be stated that the bio-accumulation / bioconcentration potential is low both in fish and in mammals. As TGIC is metabolized by epoxide hydrolase to form the respective alcohols, glucuronidation or sulfation or direct excretion is most likely leading to a rapid turn-over in the organism.
Thus, no such studies are required.
Based on the ECOSAR model calculation the bioconcentration factor is 18.
