Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Conclusion on classification

Classification related key information

Degradation:

-         Biodegradation: readily biodegradable: 98% after 16 d (DOC removal, OECD 301A)

Bioaccumulation:

-        Log Kow : -0.15 to 1.5 at 25 °C (HPLC method, OECD 117)

Aquatic acute toxicity:

-         Fish: not available

-         Aquatic invertebrates: EC50 (48 h) > 55 mg/L (mean measured, OECD 202)

-         Algae: ErC50 (72 h) = 77 mg/L (mean measured, OECD 201)

Aquatic chronic toxicity

-         Fish: no data available

-         Aquatic invertebrates: no data available

-         Algae: ErC10 (72 h) = 42 mg/L (mean measured, OECD 201)

Classification according to CLP

Acute toxicity data are available for two trophic levels and chronic data are available for algae. No toxicity was observed for aquatic invertebrates up to the tested concentration while algae exhibited an ErC50 of 77 mg/L and ErC10 of 42 mg/L (mean measured). The tested substance is rapidly biodegradable and has no potential for bioaccumulation (Log Kow = -0.15 to 1.5). Thus, according to the 8th ATP of Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) the substance is not classified as hazardous to the environment.
