Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

First aid measures

Inhalation:
Remove exposed person to fresh air if adverse effects are observed.

Eye contact:
Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if
present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Immediately call a POISON CENTER/doctor/…

Skin Contact:
Wash with soap and water. If skin irritation occurs, get medical attention.

Ingestion:
Treat symptomatically. Get medical attention.
Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed: See SDS section 11.
Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed

Hazards:
No data available.

Treatment:
Treat symptomatically.

Fire-fighting measures

Firefighting measures

General Fire Hazards:
Move containers from fire area if you can do so without risk.

Extinguishing media
Suitable extinguishing media:
CO2, Dry chemical or Foam. Water can be used to cool and protect exposed material.
Unsuitable extinguishing media:
Not determined.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
Vapors may cause a flash fire or ignite explosively. Prevent buildup of vapors or gases to explosive concentrations. Vapors may travel considerable distance to a source of ignition and flash back. Water may cause splattering. Container may rupture on heating. See section 10 for additional information.

Advice for firefighters
Special fire fighting procedures:
No data available.
Special protective equipment for fire-fighters:
Wear full protective firegear including self-containing breathing apparatus operated in the positive pressure mode with full facepiece, coat, pants, gloves and boots.

Accidental release measures

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
ELIMINATE all ignition sources (no smoking, flares, sparks or flames in immediate area). Personal Protective Equipment must be worn, see Personal Protection Section for PPE recommendations.

Environmental Precautions:
Avoid release to the environment. Do not contaminate water sources or sewer. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
Eliminate all ignition sources if safe to do so. Dike far ahead of larger spill for later recovery and disposal. Pick up free liquid for recycle and/or disposal. Residual liquid can be absorbed on inert material. Stop the flow of material, if this is without risk. Prevent entry into waterways, sewer, basements or confined areas.

Reference to other SDS sections: See SDS sections 8 and 13 for additional information.

Handling and storage

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling:
Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking. Do not get in eyes. Observe good industrial hygiene practices. Provide adequate ventilation. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Avoid environmental contamination. Empty containers retain material residue. Do not cut, weld, braze, solder, drill, grind or expose containers to heat, flame, spark or other sources of ignition.

Maximum Handling Temperature:
Not determined.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
Keep cool. Store in a well-ventilated place. Do not store near potential sources of ignition.

Maximum Storage Temperature:
Not determined.

Specific end use(s):
End uses are listed in an attached exposure scenario in SDS when one is required.

Exposure controls

Appropriate engineering controls:
Material should be handled in enclosed vessels and equipment, in which case general (mechanical) room ventilation should be sufficient. Local exhaust ventilation should be used at points where dust, mist, vapors or gases can escape into the room air.

Individual protection measures, such as personal protective equipment
General information:
Provide easy access to water supply and eye wash facilities. Good general ventilation (typically 10 air changes per hour) should be used. Ventilation rates should be matched to conditions. If applicable, use process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation, or other engineering controls to maintain airborne levels below recommended exposure limits. If exposure limits have not been established, maintain airborne levels to an acceptable level.

Eye/face protection:
Safety glasses. If potential for splash or mist exists, wear chemical goggles or faceshield.

Skin protection
Hand Protection:
Use good industrial hygiene practices to avoid skin contact. If contact with the material may occur wear chemically protective gloves. Consult clothing/glove manufacturer to determine appropriate type of glove for given situation.

Other:
Wear apron or protective clothing in case of contact.

Respiratory Protection:
A respiratory protection program compliant with all applicable regulations must be followed whenever workplace conditions require the use of a respirator. Under normal use conditions, respirator is not usually required. Use appropriate respiratory protection if exposure to dust particles, mist or vapors is likely. Use self-contained breathing apparatus for entry into confined space, for other poorly ventilated areas and for large spill clean- up sites.

Hygiene measures:
Observe good industrial hygiene practices. Do not get in eyes. When using do not smoke.

Environmental Controls:
No data available. See SDS section 6 for details.

Stability and reactivity

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity:
No data available.

Chemical Stability:
Material is stable under normal conditions.

Possibility of Hazardous Reactions:
Will not occur.

Conditions to Avoid:
Heat, sparks, flames.

Incompatible Materials:
Strong oxidizing agents. An incompatibility may occur in the presence of zinc containing compounds which may result in the formation of a strong odor. Trial blends are recommended to be prepared using the appropriate exhaust ventilation.

Hazardous Decomposition Products:
Thermal decomposition or combustion may generate smoke, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and other products of incomplete combustion. Thermal decompositon may generate phosphorus oxides and other phosphorus containing compounds.

Disposal considerations

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods

Disposal methods:
Treatment, storage, transportation, and disposal must be in accordance with applicable Federal, State/Provincial, and Local regulations. Dispose of packaging or containers in accordance with local, regional, national and international regulations. Empty container contains product residue which may exhibit hazards of product.

Contaminated Packaging:
Container packaging may exhibit hazards.
