Results and discussion

Partition coefficient

log Pow
Partition coefficient:
1.24
Temp.:
20 °C
Remarks on result:
other: pH data was not available
Details on results:
Recoveries of Red 620 in octanol phase and water phase were 85.3±3.1%, 83.3±1.3%, respectively and the Relative Standard Deviation (RSD) was less than 20% (Table 1, 2).
LogPow values of Red 620 from the all three runs with the different solvents ratios were 1.28±0.01 (2 mL, test 1), 1.15±0.04 (4 mL, test 2), 1.29±0.00 (1 mL, test 3). The average value of LogPow is 1.24 ± 0.08 (Table 3, Fig 1).

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The average logPow value from the all three runs with the different solvents ratios was 1.24± 0.08. The variation of partition coefficient calculated with different volume ratio was within ±0.3 logPow. This result was acceptable range specified by the National Institute of Environmental Research, Korea and OECD test guidelines.
