- Justification:
The result of the screening test shows the test substance is readily biodegradable.
The substance is assessed as not ‘B’ based on the high solubility in water and low partition coefficient. In addition, there is no evidence that this class of substance will readily absorb across membranes. The molecular weight of over 1000 makes it unlikely that there will be much absorption through membranes.
The substance is not considered ‘T’ based on EC 50 (algae) = 60 mg/l and EC 50 (invertebrate) = 5 mg/l. For 1-10 ton end points, no human hazard is identified. The substance is not likely to have CRM characters. However, the assessment is based on limited data.
