The substance does not contain functional groups which are susceptible to hydrolytic degradation. Hydrolytic stability is thus to be expected.

This notation is experimentally supported by the results of a hydrolysis study with 17 β-Hydroxy-4,9-estradien-3-one, which is structurally similiar. The rate was determined at pH 4, 7 and 9. No hydrolytic degradation was observed within 5 days at 50 °C. According to the criterion in the EC-guideline, 17 β-Hydroxy-4,9-estradien-3-one is to be considered stable at pH 4, 7 and 9 (half-life higher than 1 year at 25 °C).
