PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The assessment of Triacetonetriamine for PBT or vPvB properties has been based on screening information listed in Annex XIII section 3.1 of the REACh regulation as data for a definitive conclusion are not available. The substance did not show biodegradation and therefore, persistency could not be excluded and the substance is considered to be potentially persistent in a worst case approach. Due to the log Kow of the substance, which is below the trigger value, bioaccumulation of the substance is not expected. The substance is not expected to be bioaccumulative or to be very bioaccumulative. The toxicity on aquatic organisms is above the screening criteria. The substance is not classified as mutagenic, carcinogenic or toxic for reproduction according to CLP regulation. Therefore, the substance does not fulfil the T criteria. In conclusion, the substance is not identified as PBT or as a vPvB substance on the basis of the relevant data provided.

Furthermore, all assessed components, present > 0.1% in the product, are not considered to be PBT/vPvB substances. The constituents are not expected to contribute significantly to the ecotoxicity of the registered substance. In conclusion, the substance does neither fulfill all three criteria for PBT criteria nor the criteria for vPvB and is not identified as a PBT or vPvB substance.
