The test item was formed into a particle train. A hot flame from a gas burner with a diameter of about 6 mm is used to ignite the pile at one end.In the preliminary screening test the substance does not ignite by a hot flame from the gas burner. Instead of that, the test item melts. Based on the results obtained octanoic acid, monoester with glycerol was considered "non flammable".
