The experimental determination of the partition coefficient used the shake flask method, as recommended by OECD 107 and EU A.8. The study was performed at pH 9 to ensure non-ionisation of the dissolved isomers. The partition coefficient for the two isomers at 20°C were determined to be log Pow = 2.37 for isomer A and log Pow = 2.63 for isomer B. The calculated log Pow for the test article as a whole was 2.895 by the Leo and Hansch method.
