Additional information

Flammability (solids)

The flammability (solids) of the test material was determined under GLP conditions and in accordance with the standardised guideline EU Method A.10. The study was assigned a reliability score of 1 in line with the criteria of Klimisch et al. (1997).

The test material melted on application of the butane burner flame. The melt burned but the flame did not propagate along the pile. The flame extinguished on removal of the burner. The test material was therefore concluded to be non-flammable.

Flammability (contact with water)

In accordance with Section 1 of REACH Annex XI, the study does not need to be performed as based on chemical structure and experience in use water reactivity is not to be expected and hence testing does not appear scientifically necessary. The absence of reactivity was confirmed during the surface tension test.

Flammability (pyrophoric properties)

In accordance with Section 1 of REACH Annex XI, the study does not need to be performed as based on chemical structure and experience in use pyrophoric properties are not expected and hence testing does not appear scientifically necessary.

Justification for classification or non-classification

In accordance with the criteria for classification as defined in Annex I, Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008, the substance does not require classification with respect to flammability.

In accordance with the criteria for classification as defined in Annex VI, Directive 67/548/EEC (DSD), the substance does not require classification with respect to flammability.
