A study was conducted according to Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 method A.9 and DIN EN ISO 2719 (2003) to determine the flash point of the test item using a closed cup method. The start temperature for the main test (136 °C) was chosen based on preliminary test results. Approx. 72 g of the test item was filled in the cup and heated to the estimated temperature. The measured flash point at atmospheric pressure was corrected to a standard pressure of 1013 hPa. The flash point was determined to be at 137.1 °C (corrected to the ambient pressure). Thus, the flash point of the test item was determined to be 137.0 °C (corrected and rounded down to the nearest multiple of 0.5 °C) at 1013.25 hPa.
