Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information - workers

The read across substance quinine is obviously a potent contact allergen. We conclude that cinchonidine which differs in a methoxy group is also a potent contact allergen. However, cinchonidine is not irritating to skin and eyes.

Additional information - General Population

The read across substance quinine is a potent contact allergen and patients became sensitized after short exposure time. We conclude that cinchonidine which differs in a methoxy group is also a potent contact allergen. Furthermore, quinine is not irritating to skin and mildly irritating to eyes. Therefore, we expect that cinchonidine is also not irritating to skin and mildly irritating to eyes.
