Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

There are no studies available investigating the long-term toxicity of Hydrocarbons, C11-C13 (odd numbered), n-alkanes, <2% aromatics to fish. However, available short term studies in fish, invertebrates and algae and long-term toxicity test with aquatic invertebrates and algae indicate no potential for aquatic toxicity within the limit of solubility of the substance. Furthermore, due to its ready biodegradability it is not likely that aquatic organisms are exposed to the test substance since it will be removed and ultimately degraded in sewage treatment plants. Hence, due to the lack of exposure and to avoid unnecessary vertebrate tests for animal welfare reasons, no further long-term test with fish is deemed necessary for the hazard assessment of Hydrocarbons, C11-C13 (odd numbered), n-alkanes, <2% aromatics.
