Administrative data

First-aid measures

General advice: Immediate medical attention is required. Move out of dangerous area.

Inhalation:
Move to fresh air.
Keep patient warm and at rest.
Give oxygen or artificial respiration if needed.

Skin contact:
Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately.
Wash off immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.
Wash contaminated clothing before re-use.

Eye contact:
Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.
Keep eye wide open while rinsing.

Ingestion:
Do NOT induce vomiting.
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media:
Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment.
Carbon dioxide (CO2)
Water spray
Dry chemical

Unsuitable extinguishing media: Do NOT use water jet.

Burning produces noxious and toxic fumes.

Advice for firefighters
Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses.
In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
Use water spray to cool unopened containers

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Evacuate personnel to safe areas.
Ensure adequate ventilation.
Avoid contact with the skin and the eyes.
Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection.
Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately.
Wash contaminated clothing before re-use.
Large spills:-
Response to this material requires the use of a full encapsulated suit and full-face self-contained breathing apparatus.
Remove all sources of ignition.

Environmental precautions:
The product should not be allowed to enter drains, water courses or the soil.
If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respective authorities.
Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so.
Vapours may be suppressed by use of a water fog.
The product is insoluble and sinks in water

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
Soak up with inert absorbent material.
Sand
Pick up and transfer to properly labelled containers.
Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal
Retain and dispose of contaminated wash water

Handling and storage

Avoid formation of aerosol.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Wear suitable personal protection.
Smoking, eating and drinking should be prohibited in the application area.
Handle product only in closed system or provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at machinery.
Container may be opened only under exhaust ventilation hood.

Conditions for safe storage including any incompatibilities:
Prevent unauthorized access.
Store in original container.
Containers which are opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage.
Use appropriate container to avoid environmental contamination.
Keep away from sources of ignition, no smoking
Protect from sunlight.
Keep containers tightly closed in a cool, dry and well ventilated place.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Handle only in a place equipped with local exhaust (or other appropriate exhaust).
Wear a positive-pressure supplied-air respirator with full facepiece.
In the case of vapour formation use a respirator with an approved filter.
Respirator with a full face mask.
Respirator with combination filter for vapour/particulate (EN 141).
Hand protection:
The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifications of EU Directive 89/686/EEC and the standard EN 374 derived from it.
The choice of an appropriate glove does not only depend on its material but also on other quality features and is different from one producer to the other.
The break through time depends amongst other things on the material, the thickness and the type of glove and therefore has to be measured for each case.
Gloves must be inspected prior to use.
