Distribution = Residue (% m/m)

The tap density (CIPAC MT 169) of hexamethylenetetramine was found to be 0.714 g/mL.

The mass of the sample needed for the main test (m) was calculated to 128.52 g (14.28 g/sieve).

The particle size distribution of the test item was specified by the range [x1, x2] of two sieves, where Rx1 >= 90% and Rx2 <= 10% (R = sum of residues). This range covers 80% or more of the particle size of the test item.

Conclusions:
A range of 500 to 3350 µm covers 80 % of the particle size distribution of methenamine. No particles below 125 µm were found.
Executive summary:

The study was performed according to CIPAC MT 170. Nine sieves of different mesh sizes were used. Following the dry sieve analysis of the test item methenamine the range 500 µm - 3350 µm covers 80 % of the particle size distribution.

Description of key information

After determination of the tap density (0.714 g/cm3), for the particle size distribution of methenamine a range of 500 to 3350 µm was found to cover 80 % of the particle size distribution of methenamine. No particles below 125 µm were found.

Additional information

The study was performed according to CIPAC MT 170. Nine sieves of different mesh sizes were used. Following the dry sieve analysis of the test item methenamine the range 500 µm - 3350 µm covers 80 % of the particle size distribution.
