Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Calibration

The calibration with n-undecane and n-hexadecane was carried out in duplicate. The measured values after correction for atmospheric pressure were:

- n-undecane       1sttrial  : 68.8 °C

                           2ndtrial : 66.8°C

- n-hexadecane    1sttrial  : 128.8 °C

                           2ndtrial : 130.8 °C

These measured values are within the acceptance limits.

The accuracy of the method varies according to the flash point range used. The maximum estimated accuracy is ±2 °C.

The estimated accuracy of the manometer ± 0.1 kPa.

Flash point of test substance

With the expected flash point of 190 °C the first dipping of the ignition source was at 169 °C.

The determination resulted in:

- recorded flash point   : 197.1 °C

- atmospheric pressure : 102.2 kPa

- corrected flash point  : 196.9 °C

This means that the flash point of the test substance is 197 °C.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The flash point of the substance is 197 °C.

Description of key information

The flash point of the substance is 197 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
197 °C

Additional information

The GHS criteria to classify this substance as a flammable liquid does not apply. Its flash point is far above 60 °C.
