No data investigating the short-term or long-term toxicity of l-Glutamic acid, N-coco acyl derivs., disodium salts (CAS No. 68187-30-4) are available. In accordance with table R.7.11-2 of the “Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, Chapter: R.7c” (ECHA, 2008), the terrestrial hazard assessment was performed by an Environmental risk characterization on the basis of PNEC values derived using the EPM method. This approach is considered valid as the substance is readily biodegradable and thus not persistent in the environment, has a low adsorption potential and showed to be non-toxic to aquatic organisms.

The environmental risk assessment showed PEC/PNEC ratios for the soil compartment of < 1 for all relevant exposure scenarios. Thus, no risk for the soil compartment is identified and accordingly no testing on soil organisms is necessary.
