Additional information

The study selected as key, Adema and Bakker (1986), uses a static, closed system with low headspace, a standard test species (Daphnia magna) and standard exposure duration (48 hours). The results were based on initial measured concentrations. The method used in this paper is equivalent to OECD 202. This study was chosen in preference to other studies identified as it was used as the key study in the EU RAR (2004) for cyclohexane, is the only acute study with any analytical monitoring and reported the most conservative value. The supporting study Abernethy et al. (1986) reports a 48-hour EC50 for Daphnia magna.of 3.78 mg/L. The calculated 48hr EL50 from TLM QSAR for short term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates was 4.36 mg/L.
