Guinea-pigs, mice, rats, and rabbits were found to be less susceptible in that order. Observed lesions from the exposures included degenerative changes of the epithelium of the respiratory tract, pulmonary hyperemia and edema, focal pulmonary hemorrhages in some instances, and areas of atelectasis and emphysema in the lungs of all animals.

Mortality data, length of survival, signs of intoxication, and pathological changes are reported for animals exposed to 0.090 or 1.73 milligrams per liter of air of sulfuric-acid mists in a test chamber. Guinea-pigs, mice, rats, and rabbits are found to be less susceptible in that order.
