Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not sensitising)
Additional information:

The skin sensitisation potential was tested in the local lymph node assay (LLNA) and guinea pig maximisation tests (GPMT). Succinic acid was non-sensitising in the GPMT and gave clearly negative response in the murine LLNA test.

Migrated from Short description of key information:
- GPMT: non sensitising
- LLNA: non sensitising

Justification for classification or non-classification

No classification of succinic acid as a skin sensitizer is derived from the results of the GPMT and LLNA studies. Succinic acid was non-sensitising in the GPMT and gave clearly negative response in the murine LLNA test.
