Results and discussion

Any other information on results incl. tables

The 2:1 reference item/cellulose mixture ignited immediately when touched by the hot flame of the gas burner. The cone burned with a yellowish to green flame completely (also in the core of the cone) within apporximately 0.75 min. Due to the vehemence of the reaction the ash was spread approximately 5cm around the cone.

The preliminary part of the study was carried out. The 2:1 test item/cellulose mixture ignited immediately when touched by the hot flame of the gas burner. The cone burned with a calm yellow flame. No ash was spread around the cone. Within 3.67 min the surface of the cone carbonized to a black residue. The bottom side and the inner core of the cone were not scorched.

The test item showed in the preliminary part without any doubt a much weaker reaction in comparision with the reference item.

Due to this result, and with respect to the fact that the test item owned no typical oxidising functional groups, no definitive part was performed.
