Description of key information

Triacetin has a low volatilisation potential.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No experimental studies determining the Henry’s Law constant of triacetin (CAS 102-76-1) are available. Thus, the Henry’s Law constant was calculated using HENRYWIN v3.20 (Müller, 2013). Results from HENRYWIN v3.20 indicate a low potential for volatilisation of triacetin from water into air based on Henry’s Law constants of 0.000177 Pa m³/mole (Bond estimation method). Based on this result, it can be concluded that triacetin has a low volatilisation potential.
