Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

In a biomimetic extraction screening study conducted using WAFs at 100 mg/L loading rate a TDAE sample (solvent refined heavy paraffinic distillate; CAS # 68783-04-0) did not have a positive BE result (i.e. non-detect)(ExxonMobil, 2010c). A subsequent key 48-hour short-term Daphnia magna toxicity test (OECD 202, KS = 1) at 100 mg/L loading rate was carried out on this sample. The 48-hour EL50 was > 100 mg/L (ExxonMobil, 2010a).

In a supporting static 48-hour short-term daphnia (Daphnia magna) toxicity test (OECD 202; KS=1), 10 animals/loading were exposed to the WAF of heavy paraffinic distillate solvent extract (PSG 1861; CAS # 68783-04-0) at a nominal concentration of 1000 mg/L. The 48-hour EL50 was >1000 mg/L. The NOEL was determined by immobilisation, and was ≥ 1000 mg/L (BP Oil Europe 1994b).
