One study investigating the long-term toxicity of N,N-dimethyldecanamide (CAS No. 14433-76-2) to freshwater fish is available. The study was performed according to GLP and OECD guideline 210 using Danio rerio as test organism (BASF, 2013). Nominal test concentrations between 0.056 and 0.9 mg/L were used. Because the test concentrations could not satisfactorily be maintained within ± 20% of the mean measured values the time weighted average (TWA) concentrations were used to base the dose response on.
Egg mortality was observed in all test concentrations except for the lowest test concentration and the control. The effects observed were not significantly different from the control and the NOEC for this endpoint is therefore equal to or greater than the highest test concentration. Post-hatch mortality occurred in all test concentrations including the control. It was not concentration related and not significantly different from the control, therefore NOEC is equal to or greater than the highest test concentration. No teratogenic malformations were noted for any larvae at any concentration. Length and weight data were statistically assessed usingmulti-comparison tests. No significant effects were observed and NOEC is therefore equal to or greater than 0.71 mg/L. None of the endpoints assessed showed significant effects and thus the 35-d NOEC is determined to be >= 0.71 mg/L.
