Description of key information

The relative density is 0.96 at 25 deg. C as per method ASTM D 891.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Relative density at 20C:
0.96

Additional information

The key value for relative density of this substance was carried out as per ASTM D 891 using pycnometer method.

Titanium tetraisopropanolate is hydrolytically unstable. When it comes in contact with water or moisture, a complete hydrolysis will take place with no significant reaction products other than isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and hydrated titanium dioxide. Because of rapid hydrolysis, instead of the target substance, read-across data on the density of IPA released from the substance is used as a key value in CSA for environmental exposure assessment (see section 9 & 10 of CSR).
