Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Kohlendioxid, Staub, Schaum, Wasser

Water, foam, dry powder, CO2.

Product arising from burning: Stickoxide, Kohlenstoffoxide, Schwefel-, Chlor- und Chrom-

Die Substanz selbst ist nicht feuergefährlich

Substance itself does not present a fire hazard. If involved
in a fire, mainly nitric oxides, carbon oxides as well as
sulfur-, chlorine and chromium oxides may be produced an
self-contained breathing apparatus should then be used.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Atemgeräte

Accidental release measures

For dry residues, collect and dump in licensed landfill site
or discharge by incineration in suitable plant. For spillage
absorb with adequate absorber an discharge by incineration
in suitable plant or by dumping in licensed landfill site.
Avoid skin contact and breathing dust.

Substance should not reach any surface water.

During collecting and handling the spillage wear dust mask,
appropriate goggles and impermeable gloves. Label waste

Handling and storage

Handling: Die beim Umgang mit Chemikalien üblichen Vorsichtsmaßnahmen
beachten. Hautkontakt vermeiden, undurchlässige Schutzhand-
schuhe tragen. Staubentwicklung vermeiden; Staubmaske tragen
sowie staubsichere Umfüllvorrichtungen oder geeignete
Absaugvorrichtung verwenden.

Vorschläge für Empfehlungen betreffend die Verwendungs-
sicherheit des Stoffes gemäß Artikel 6 der 6. Änderung

der Richtlinie 67/548/EWG:

Die unter Punkt 2.3 und 2.5 erwähnten Vorsichtsmaßnahmen
müssen beachtet werden.

The usual precautions for the handling with chemicals should
be observed. Avoid contact with skin. Use inpermeable
gloves. Avoid dusting and breathing dust. Use dust mask
anddust proof filling devices and an appropriate exhaustion.

Storage: In bruchsicheren Behältern, dicht verschlossen, in ausrei-
chend belüfteten und geeigneten Räumen lagern. Produktreste
außerhalb der Behälter vermeiden.

Store in unbrakable, tightly closed containers in well
ventillated and appropriate rooms.

Avoid product residues outside the containers.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Blechgebinde mit PE-Innensäcken und Deckel (25 kg)

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Eine Aufbereitung zur Wiederverwendung ist ökonomisch nicht

Normal application results in the consumption of more than
98 % by irreversible binding to wool or polyamide.

Recovery for recycling of the remaining highly water soluble
substance is not reasonably practicable.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Entfällt

Not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Ablagerung in einer zugelassenen Sondermülldeponie

Discharge in a controlled deposit is possible.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Veraschung in geeigneter Verbrennungsanlage

Discharge by incineration in suitable plant is possible.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Restflotte kann ultrafiltriert oder mittels Polyelektrolyt
behandelt werden.

If the dyestuff is used for dyeing of wool or polyamide the
following waste-water charges may occur:

For a dark navy colouring of polyamide 6.6 two parts of the
dyestuff from hundred parts of polyamide weight are applied.
Assuming a binding grade of 98 % and a dye-bath ratio of 1 :
10 the remaining amount of dyestuff in the used dye-bath is
4 mg/l.

Depending on the installation of the dye-work the remaining
dye-bath can be ultrfiltrated or treated by means of a
poly-electrolyte. In both cases the dyestuff will be
degraded or eliminated resp. to traces.

If the remaining dye-bath is not treated the following
scenario can be assumed:

The above mentioned 4 mg/l dyestuff (traded quality)
correspond to 2 mg/l of the notified and tested quality
(coupage ratio 1 : 1).

After the usual dilution with wah and rinse water as well as
with waste-water in the ratio 1 : 40 the dyestuff will reach
the public water treatment system in a concentration of 0.05
mg/l. Here the substance will be eliminated to 68 % approx.
(see Zahn-Wellens-Test 5.2.2). When reaching the surface
water the concentration will be decreased again in the ratio
1 : 10 by dilution. Finally the end concentration at the
time reaching the surface water is 0.0034 mg/l. This value
is thirty times smaller than the EC 0 value for fish of 0.1
mg/l (see 5.1.1). If the dyestuff is used appropriately
there will be no acute toxic effect against fish or daphnia.
