Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
If inhaled :
Remove to fresh air.
If breathing is labored, administer oxygen.
If breathing has stopped, apply artificial respiration.
Obtain medical attention for any breathing difficulties.
In case of skin contact:
Remove contaminated clothing and shoes.
If on skin, rinse well with water.
Get medical attention immediately if irritation persists.
In case of eye contact:
Immediately flush eye(s) with plenty of water.
If symptoms persist, call a physician.
If swallowed:
Do NOT induce vomiting.
Drink 1 or 2 glasses of water.
Get medical attention immediately.
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
Symptoms : The absorption of this product into the body may lead to the formation of methaemoglobine that, in sufficient concentration,
causes cyanosis.
Risks : No information available.
Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
Treatment : The first aid procedure should be established in consultation with the doctor responsible for industrial medicine.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media:
Extinguishing media - large fires
Alcohol-resistant foam
(on small fires)
Carbon dioxide (CO2)
Dry chemical
Water spray
Unsuitable extinguishing media:
Water spray jet
Advice for firefighters
Special protective equipment for firefighters:
Body covering protective clothing, full "turn-out" gear. Self-contained breathing apparatus (EN 133)
Further information:
Do not discharge extinguishing waters into streams, rivers and lakes.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
Personal precautions:
Evacuate unnecessary personnel.
Avoid all contact with material.
Wear suitable protective equipment.
Keep in properly labelled containers.
Dispose of rinse water as waste water.
Environmental precautions:
Toxic to aquatic life.
Avoid release to the environment.
Prevent leaks and prevent soil / water pollution caused by leaks.
Methods for cleaning up:
Shovel up and transfer to suitable, closable containers.
Avoid dust formation.
Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system.
Handling and storage
Advice on safe handling:
Warn personnel about the dangers of the product.
Keep container tightly closed.
Avoid formation of dust and aerosols.
Do not puncture.
Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing.
Provide for appropriate exhaust ventilation and dust collection
at machinery.
Hygiene measures:
Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product.
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Do not breathe dust. Wash thoroughly after handling. Keep working clothes separately.
Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.
Contaminated work clothing should not be allowed out of the workplace.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Requirements for storage areas and containers:
Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool and wellventilated
place. Protect from moisture.
Advice on common storage:
Never allow product to get in contact with water during storage.
Other data: Stable under normal conditions.
