Additional information

TAED is mainly used as bleaching activator in detergents. During the washing process (pH 10) 92 Mol-% of TAED is perhydrolyzed to 92 Mol-% Diacetylethylene diamine (DAED). The sewage from the washing process contains therefore 8 Mol-% TAED and 92 Mol-% DAED. For an Environmental Safety Assessment it is important to assess physicochemical as well as fate and ecotoxicty data for the metabolite DAED and not only of TAED. Therefore important data for DAED are given in IUCLID 5 Sections 4, 5 and 6.
