Description of key information

NOEC (6:2 FTOH): 2.16 mg/L (2.57 mg/L for the test substance when corrected for molecular weight differences between the test and read across substance).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Fresh water invertebrates

Fresh water invertebrates
Effect concentration:
2.57 mg/L

Additional information

No long-term toxicity testing on invertebrates was available for the notified substance. Given the metabolic transformation of the test substance to 6:2 FTOH, the latter is the more relevant substance to study. The NOEC for the read-across substance in a 21-day, chronic test using waterfleas, Daphnia magna, was 2.16 mg/L (2.57 mg/L for the test substance when corrected for molecular weight differences between the test and read across substance) based upon mean, measured concentrations and adult survival, total live young per female, total immobile young per surviving female and length and weight of surviving females.
