Description of key information
The log Kow of the substance of 4.4 is selected based on read across from terpinyl acetate alpha, which was determined by the HPLC method according to OECD TG 117.
Two other peaks show log Kow of 4.3 and 4.5, respectively. These likely belong to Terpinyl Acetate beta (an impurity and Terpinyl Acetate gamma (a minor constituent) based on the slight differences calculated with KOWWIN. For these two log Kow values are calculated of 4.33 and 4.47, respectively. For Terpinyl Acetate alpha a value of 4.4 is calculated. The selected log Kow values is therefore representatative for Terpinyl Acetate multi.

The key study was selected based on it being conducted under GLP.
In addition to the key study, the octanol-water partition coefficients of 57 terpenoids including alpha-Terpinyl Acetate were determined using HPLC (Griffin et al., 1999) and resulted in a log Kow value of 3.96.
