solubility in organic solvents / fat solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
according to guideline
OECD Guideline 116 (Fat Solubility of Solid and Liquid Substances)
GLP compliance:
Key result
standard fat
37 °C
Remarks on result:
other: Test substance miscible in standard fat
Test substance stable:
not determined
Details on results:
In both cases, no phase separation was observed. The liquids were found to be miscible and so the main test was not performed.
The test substance was found to be miscible in standard fat based on a reliable study using a standard methodology (preliminary study only). The result is considered to be reliable.

Description of key information

Solubility in organic solvents: miscible with standard fat at 37°C (OECD 116)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The miscibility of the substance in organic solvents was determined in a study conducted according to OECD 116 and in compliance with GLP. The miscibility was performed by mixing an equal amount of the submission substance and standard fat in a flask at 37°C. During the study, no phase separation was observed between the test substance and standard fat during the preliminary study. Hence, the substance was observed to be miscible with standard fat at 37°C.
