Additional information

According to ANNEX VII of REACH regulation n. 1907/2006, the study does not need to be conducted if the substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials, on the basis of the chemical structure or chemical groups associated with oxidizing properties. The study can be waived based on the experience on handling the substance (qualitative assessment).

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance is not classified as an oxidizer because it doesn't meet the classification criteria of the CLP regulation n. 1272/2008:

"For organic substances or mixtures the classification procedure for this class shall not apply if:

(a) the substance or mixture does not contain oxygen, fluorine or chlorine; or

(b) the substance or mixture contains oxygen, fluorine or chlorine and these elements are chemically bonded only to carbon or hydrogen

The substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials, on the basis of the chemical structure or chemical groups associated with oxidizing properties
