Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove the patient into fresh air and keep at rest and warm.
Immediately call a physician.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with running water for at least 15 minutes with open
eye lid. Immediately consult a physician.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing and wash with plenty of water
and soap. Immediately consult a physician.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Do not induce vomitting. Rinse mouth with water. Consult a
physician.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, powder, carbon dioxide.
Do not use a high volume water jet.
Product arising from burning: Carbon monoxide / carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides,
hydrogen iodide.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: In the event of fire wear a self contained breathing
apparatus.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Avoid any contact with the spilt product and contaminated
surfaces.
Wear personal protective equipment (see section "Handling").
Unprotected persons must be kept away.
Do not allow to enter soil, drains, ground- and surface
water or sanitary systems.
Take up with an industrial vacuum cleaner avoiding the
formation of dust.
Carefully transfer in suitable containers which must be
tightly closed and labelled according to TRGS 201.
Dispose of according to local regulations.
Handling and storage
Handling: Working procedures must always be designed so that contact
with the skin and eyes is excluded. Avoid inhalation of the
substance.
Closed or at least dust-proof equipment has to be used
during filling, metered feeding, and sampling.
In the case of handling the substance in open systems,
extract any dust which might form directly at the point of
origin.
For a theoretical exposure the following personal precau-
tions are to be applied:
respiratory system: mask with particle filter (P1-P3)
eye protection: safety glasses, tight fit
hand protection: gloves of PVC
protective clothing: lightweight protective clothing
Adequate washing facilities and conspicuously labelled eye-
douche stations should be provided in the immediate vicini-
ty of the working area. After contact with the skin, the
affected parts of the body should be immediately thoroughly
cleaned using soap and plenty of water. Contaminated
clothing must be changed immediately. Special skin-protec-
tion and skin-care measures are recommended.
A skin-protection plan must be drawn up.
Keep working clothes separately.
In cases where dusts can form, due to the potential dust-
explosion risk, potential sources of ignition should be re-
moved from the working area. In addition, measures should
be taken to prevent electrostatic discharges.
Storage: Apply the VCI concept for the Mixed Storage of Chemicals.
Store in the original containers in a well ventilated place.
Keep them tightly closed and secure them against falling by
taking the appropriate measures.
Avoid residues on the outside of the containers.
Due to the substances sensitivity to heat and moisture:
Keep in a cooled and dry place.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Barrel, 40 kg.
