Conclusions:
Under the study conditions, the water solubility of the test substance (lowest water solubility value of main constituent of DPHA) was considered to be 6 mg/L.
Executive summary:

A study was conducted to determine the water solubility of test substance, DPHA according to the OECD Guideline 105, using column elution method. DPHA is a multi constituent product. The water solubility of DPPA is 80 mg/L and water solubility of DPHA is 6 mg/L. Hence, the test substance is slightly soluble in water. The lowest water solubility value was selected to represent the substance as this is equivalent to the worst case from an environmental perspective (slightly lower biodegradation and higher Henry’s constant). Also, it is the value for the main constituent, DPHA. Under the study conditions, the water solubility of the test substance (lowest water solubility value of main constituent of DPHA) was considered to be 6 mg/L (Herssens, 2010).

Description of key information

The water solubility of the test substance was determined according to OECD Guideline 105, using the column elution method (Herssens, 2010).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
6 mg/L

25 °C

Additional information

The lowest water solubility value was selected to represent the substance as this is equivalent to the worst case from an environmental perspective (slightly lower biodegradation and higher Henry’s constant). Also, it is the value for the main constituent, DPHA.
