No study has been performed on tricalcium bis(orthophosphate) for the endpoint 'oxidising properties'. An adaptation from the standard testing regime is justified on the following basis:
According to the guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment Chapter R.7a section 7.1.13, the first step of the screening procedure is to examine the chemical structure and check for the presence of groups associated with oxidising properties. If the substance does not contain any groups associated with oxidising properties then a negative result is likely. An expert review of the substance itself and available data, in accordance with method A.17 of Commission Regulation (EC) No. 448/2008, concludes that the substance does not have any functional groups that would imply oxidising properties. Therefore, further testing for oxidising properties is not scientifically justified.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on assessment of the molecular structure (presence of chemical groups associated with oxidising properties) and expert judgement, the substance is considered to be not oxidising for the purpose of classification and labelling according to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 (CLP).
