Lithium has a very low potential to adsorb to soil and bromides are natural components of soil minerals. According to the available information, an input via sludge application on agricultural soil is considered to be negligible, as lithium bromide does not adsorb to the sewage sludge to a significant extent. It can be concluded, that the risk for the terrestrial compartment is low and no further information and/or testing is needed.

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Annex IX and X, long- and short-term toxicity to plants (required in section 9.4.3 and 9.4.6) does not need to be conducted as direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely. Lithium has a very low potential to adsorb to soil and bromides are natural components of soil minerals. According to the available information, an input via sludge application on agricultural soil is considered to be negligible, as lithium bromide does not adsorb to the sewage sludge to a significant extent. It can be concluded, that the risk for the terrestrial compartment is low and no further information and/or testing is needed.
