Description of key information

Substance can be concluded as biodegradable and is very likely to be readily biodegradable based on the key study.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Results of the key study show that 2 -chloroethanol is biodegradable within 28 Days using multiple test methods. Full results of biodegredation with time were not reported so biodegredation performance after 10 days can not be summarized. Based on the short lag phases reported however 2 Chloroethanol is very likely to be biodegradable within the 10 day window and hence readily biodegradable.
