Description of key information

The substance is slightly flammable to flammable in presence of heat.

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 on classification, labelling and packaging (CLP) of substances and mixtures, the azelaic acid is not considered to be a flammable solid, as it may be combustible at high temperature. The substance has no pyrophoric properties and does not liberate flammable gases on contact with water.
