The test item BKC showed a first endothermic effect in the temperature range 30 – 45 °C and a second in the temperature range of 165 – 210 °C. The first endothermic effect is related to the melting point, see below. In the temperature range of 300 – 355 °C an exothermal effect could be observed.

Conclusions:
Under the study conditions, read across substance showed two endothermic effects, the first at the temperature range 30 – 45°C and the second at the temperature range 165 – 210°C, whereas it showed an exothermal effect in the temperature range of 300 – 355°C.
Executive summary:

A study was conducted to determine the thermal stability of the read across substance, C12-16 ADBAC (purity: 99.2%) according to the OECD Guideline 113, using differential scanning calorimetry. The crucibles were heated up from 0°C to 360°C with a heating rate of 3 K/min in a nitrogen atmosphere. Under the study conditions, read across substance showed two endothermic effects, the first at the temperature range 30 – 45°C and the second at the temperature range 165 – 210°C, whereas it showed an exothermal effect in the temperature range of 300 – 355°C (Moller, 2012). Based on the results of the read across, a similar result is expected for the test substance.

The thermal stability was determined based on a study conducted with the read across substance, C12 -16 ADBAC, using the DSC method according to the OECD Guideline 113 (Moller, 2012)
