Executive summary:

A study was conducted to determine the autoignition temperature of the read across substance, C12-16 ADBAC (50% active in water) according to EU Method A.15. The autoignition temperature apparatus DIN 51794 was used in this experiment. Under the study conditions, an autoignition temperature of 50% aqueous solution of the read across substance was found to be 371°C (Schuurman, 1996). Based on the results of the read across, a similar autoiginition temperature is expected for the test substance.

Executive summary:

A study was conducted to determine the autoignition of the read across substance, C12-16 ADBAC (94.4% active) according to EU Method A.16, in compliance with GLP. Height 8 cm3 (3.8 g) of the read across substance was placed in an oven at 24°C; the temperature time curve relating to conditions in the center of the sample was recorded while the temperature of the oven was increased to 400°C at a rate of 0.5°C/min. The temperature of the oven at which the sample temperature reaches 400°C by self-heating is called the autoignition temperature for the purpose of this test. Under the study conditions, no autoignition temperature was observed for the read across substance up to the maximum test temperature of 403°C (Moller, 2007). Based on the results of the read across, a similar autoiginition temperature is expected for the test substance.
