Two studies, investigating the ready biodegradability of Fatty acids, C8-10(even), C14-18(even) and C16-18(even)-unsatd., triesters with trimethylolpropane (former CAS 85186-89-6), are available. In the key study (Bealing and Watson, 2001) the biodegradation was tested in a Carbon Dioxide Evolution Test according to EU Method C.4-C (GLP) using domestic activated sludge (non-adapted) as inoculum. In the supporting study (Wierich and Börner, 2000) according to OECD 301F (GLP) effluent was applied as inoculum. At test termination after 28 days, the test substance was degraded to 77% in the key study and to 84% in the supporting study. The 10-day-window was fulfilled in both studies. Therefore, the test substance is readily biodegradable according to the OECD criteria.
