Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
physician.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Wash immediately and continuously with flowing water for at
least 30 minutes. Remove contact lenses after the first 5
minutes and countinue washing. Obtain prompt medical
consultation, preferably from an ophthalmologist.
Emergency measure - Skin: Immediately flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15
minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes.
Obtain medical attention without delay. Wash clothing before
reuse. Destroy contaminated articles such as shoes.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention immediately.
Fire-fighting measures
Water fog or fine spray.
Product arising from burning: Oxides of Carbon, Nitrogen and Boron. Borane
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Wear protective clothing and use self-contained breathing
apparatus.
Accidental release measures
Keep personnel out of low areas. Check area with explosion
meter before re-entering area. Ground and bond all
containers and handling equipment. Keep upwind of spill. Use
appropriate safety equipment.
Environmental Precautions
Contain spilled material to prevent contamination of soil,
surface water or ground water.
Methods of Cleaning Up
Contain spill if possible. Absorb with materials such as:
Cat litter. If available, use foam to smother or suppress.
Pump with explosion-proof equipment. Use non-sparking tools
in cleanup operations. Dispose of according to applicable
regulations.
Handling and storage
Highly flammable: keep away from possible ignition sources.
No smoking, sparks or open flames when handling this
product. Use of non-sparking or explosion proof equipment
may be necessary, depending upon type of operation.
Containers, even those that have been emptied, can contain
vapours. Do not cut, drill, grind, weld or perform similar
operations on or near empty containers. Never use air
pressure for transferring product. Electrically ground all
equipment.
Storage: Store in closed containers. For bulk storage, store below 35
deg.C.
