Description of key information

The effective concentration (EC50) value of benzidine-2,2'-disulphonic acid in aquatic invertebrate (Daphnia magna) in a 48 hr study on the basis of Intoxication effect was found to be 186.094 mg/L.

Thus,considering the CLP Criteria for aquatic classification of the substance, it is concluded that benzidine-2,2'-disulphonic acid does not exhibit short term toxicity to aquatic invertebrate (Daphnia magna) within the dose level mentioned in the end point
