Conclusion on classification

SP-334 (2-(2-hexyl-decyloxy)-benzamide) is not toxic to aquatic organisms within the range of its water solubility (≤0.006 mg/L). Nevertheless, since the substance is not readily biodegradable and exhibits a substantial potential for bioaccumulation in biota, classification is applied as a precautionary measure. In accordance with the classification criteria stated in 67/548/EEC (Dangerous Substances Directive, DSD), SP-334 is classified as R53, May cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment. In accordance with the classification criteria stated in Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP), the substance is classified as Chronic Category 4, H413: May cause long lasting harmful effects to aquatic life.
