Additional information

Based on read across from the xylene isomers and ethylbenzene, the Reaction Mass of Ethylbenzene and m- and p-Xylene is readily biodegradable. The substance is expected to have low potential for bioaccumulation based on a measured BCF of 25.9 in fish for mixed xylene. Based on read across of a measured log Koc value of 2.73 for o-xylene the substance is expected to have moderate adsorption to suspended solids and sediment in water. Structural analysis of the components indicates that the substance is not expected to undergo hydrolysis in the environment due to the lack of hydrolyzable functional groups.

The Reaction Mass of Ethylbenzene and m- and p-Xylene is not expected to persist in the environment because it is readily biodegradable, has a moderate potential for adsorption to organic matter and has a low potential for bioaccumulation.
