Description of key information
The toxicity to microorganisms of the substances within the glycol esters category was assessed by read-across based on the grouping of substances (category approach). All available data were used for the assessment of the toxicity to microorganisms for all substances within the glycol esters category. The substances are readily biodegradable and in the toxicity controls of the biodegradation studies no inhibition of the degradation by the glycol esters substances was observed.Key value for chemical safety assessment
