Reference
Endpoint:
flash point of flammable liquids
Type of information:
read-across from supporting substance (structural analogue or surrogate)
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
read-across source
Key result
Remarks on result:
other: Aqueous solutions of the substance have no flash-point.
Conclusions:
The Pensky-Martens closed cup method was applied for the determination of the flash-point of an aqueous solution of the source chemical amphoacetates C12 according to UN, EC, ISO and ASTM guidelines and according to GLP principles. As no flash-point was observed up to boiling of this substance, it can be concluded that aqueous solutions of the registered chemical also have no flash-point.

Description of key information

Aqueous solutions of the registered substance have no flash-point.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The Pensky-Martens closed cup method was applied for the determination of the flash-point of an aqueous solution of a substance analogue (amphoacetates C12), according to UN, EC, ISO and ASTM guidelines and according to GLP principles. No flash-point was observed up to boiling of the test substance. This result is read-across to the registered substance.
