Additional information

Cocoiminodipropionate is readily biodegradable in water. This conclusion is based on the result of a test with a similar substance (OECD 301E modified screening test) which reached 98% biodegradation after 28 days (DOC removal). Information on hydrolysis is then not needed in this dossier. The substance is not considered to have potential for bioaccumulation as the logKow obtained from solubility tests in water and octanol is low (LogKow = -1.3). The substance is not considered to have potential for adsorption to sediment and soil either as the Koc value that is calculated from Kow result is also very low. If released into the environment, the substance would mainly reach water compartment but as it is readily biodegradable, it is expected to be degraded through watse water treatment plants and it is not expected to be persistent in the environment.
