Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

A toxicokinetic assessment has been performed based on available physico-chemical properties and toxicological data of the substance PTE.

The substances that comprise the diphenylmethane category all have similar molecular structures and do therefore possess a similar functionality. It is therefore a valid assumption that the substances of this category will behave in a reasonably predictable manner, and with respect to physico-chemical, ecotoxicological/environmental and toxicological properties application of the read-across methodology is a valid assumption. The toxicokinetic assessment of PTE is therefore also applicable to Benzyltoluene.

For the risk assessment oral absorption is set at 50%, dermal absorption at 50% and inhalation absorption at 100%.

For detailed read across rationale and justification within the diphenylmethane category see section 13, Read across document.
